What features are included in the platform?

What’s the difference between the Organizer, Planner, Protector, and Advisor modules?
Each module contains multiple applications aligned with its purpose (Organizer, Planner, Protector, and Advisor). The modules are designed to work together, so information you enter in one area can support workflows in other areas.
Can I view a demo or video walkthrough of specific modules?
Yes. We provide videos and guided walkthroughs throughout the platform, including module overviews and feature-specific tutorials (see the Video Overview link).
How does data aggregation work across my financial accounts?
Asset Planet connects to supported institutions through a secure third‑party provider (currently Plaid, a widely used provider in this category). This connection allows Asset Planet to display certain aggregated data—such as banking, investments, and liabilities—inside your dashboard.
Do you offer goal-planning or forecasting tools?
Yes. Asset Planet includes planning and forecasting tools built by a team with long-term wealth-management and financial-planning experience. Planners cover common life events (e.g., relocation, marriage, starting a family, retirement) and use structured templates with step‑by‑step guidance. Forecasting models may incorporate assumptions such as inflation, investment returns, taxes, and other variables, and include “What‑If” scenarios to compare potential outcomes.
Can I collaborate with financial advisors or share access with others?
It depends on your account type and permissions. If you were onboarded by a financial professional, that professional may be able to view certain information you choose to share. Consumer users must explicitly approve any sharing. Sharing controls can be enabled or revoked at any time. Chat and document sharing support collaboration, and additional collaboration features are planned.
Is there reporting or downloadable/exportable data?
Reporting is being rolled out in stages. Reports appear on the Reports page and, in many cases, within the section where the data is maintained. For example, a Net Worth report can be generated from the Organizer module and may also be available within the Reports module.
What advanced features are available for professional users?
Professional plans include expanded tools and workflows (see the Feature Matrix). These may include budgeting, goal planning, emergency planning, inventory, insurance coverage tracking, estate and legacy planning workflows (including integrations such as WhenIDie.com), Social Security analytics, and collaboration features—designed to reduce the need for multiple separate applications.

How long is the free trial and what’s included?
30 days. The trial includes full access to professional features (see the Feature Matrix).
Do I need to enter a credit card to start the free trial?
No.
Can I upgrade to a paid plan during the trial?
Yes. You can upgrade at any time during the trial using the Upgrade Subscription option in your profile/account settings.
What happens when the free trial ends?
Your information is retained for [TBD] days after the trial ends before deletion, unless you request deletion sooner. Once deleted, information cannot be recovered.
What are the differences between Consumer and Professional pricing tiers?
Asset Planet is designed as a professional-grade platform with a consumer-friendly interface. We focus on simplifying complex workflows for users who want robust planning and organization tools at a reasonable subscription price.
Can I downgrade or switch plans after subscribing?
Yes. You may switch plans, including moving to the free tier (which does not include bank linking and may not include certain features—see the Feature Matrix). We do not prorate or refund monthly subscription fees; changes take effect at the next billing period.
Is there a yearly subscription option with a discount?
We do not currently offer an annual discount unless arranged under a commercial license (typically 100+ seats). Our goal is to provide flexibility with month‑to‑month subscriptions—no long‑term contracts. If you are not satisfied, you can cancel at any time, and we welcome feedback so we can improve.

How do I update my billing information?
Go to Profile → Billing → Update.
We accept digital payments. Current options include credit card and PayPal.

Can I get a refund if I cancel mid-billing cycle?
No. We do not prorate or refund monthly subscription fees if you cancel mid‑billing cycle.
Why was my payment declined or not processed?
If a payment is declined, first confirm your payment details with your provider. If you need help, send a screenshot of the error (please remove or blur any private information) to support@assetplanet.com.
Will my subscription auto-renew?
Yes. Subscriptions renew monthly unless canceled before the next billing date.
Can I pause my subscription instead of cancelling?
Not at this time.

Is my financial data secure? What protections are in place?
We take security seriously and maintain a dedicated security/privacy section with details. In summary, Asset Planet uses multiple safeguards such as encryption, secure infrastructure, access controls, and multi‑factor authentication. We also maintain compliance programs appropriate to our platform (see the Security page for specifics and the most current details).
Do you store credit card information?
No.
How do you protect bank connections and linked accounts?
Bank connections are established through Plaid, which provides secure linking and authentication flow. Asset Planet does not receive or store your bank login credentials through this process (see our Security page for details).
Will you sell or share my personal information?
No. We do not sell client data, and we do not share client data with third parties for their own sales or marketing purposes. Any optional third‑party offers or experiences (if available) are presented on an opt‑in basis. Examples may include educational content or product comparisons based on user-selected preferences and permissions.
Do you support multi-factor authentication (MFA) / 2FA?
Two‑factor authentication (2FA) is required to access an Asset Planet account. We plan to offer additional options such as FIDO authentication for professional users in a future release.
What happens if there’s a data breach?
We maintain incident response procedures consistent with our compliance obligations. If a security incident occurs, we follow documented processes for investigation, mitigation, and any required notifications. See the Security page for details.
🛠 Technical & Support
What platforms and devices are supported? (Mobile, desktop, etc.)
Asset Planet is primarily web‑based and accessible from modern browsers with a secure connection. We also offer mobile experiences for iOS and Android, which may operate as synced or standalone applications depending on the feature.
Is there customer support if I have issues? (chat, email, phone)
Support options vary by plan. Institutional clients may receive phone support as part of custom pricing. Professional plans include enhanced support and may include phone or remote support on a case‑by‑case basis. Paid consumer plans receive email support (and may receive additional assistance depending on the situation). Free users generally rely on self‑help resources.
What is the expected response time for support inquiries?
Our goal is to respond within 1 hour when possible. Depending on your support level and inquiry type, response times may be up to 1 business day.
Are there integration options (e.g., with Google services)?
Yes. Contacts is a primary integration area, and we support common ecosystems including Apple, Google, and Microsoft where applicable.

How do I reset my password or recover my account?
Use the “Reset Password” link on the login page. We will send verification steps to confirm your identity and, where required, complete 2FA before the reset is finalized.
Can I invite a spouse/partner or team member to view my dashboard?
We are actively developing more granular sharing (including the ability to grant and revoke access by module). In the meantime, you may share credentials at your discretion, but please note that 2FA may require access to the primary account holder’s phone or authentication method.
How do I export or back up my data?
At this time, exporting is primarily available through reports (print/download). Asset Planet is designed to keep data encrypted within the platform and does not currently support broad CSV/database-style exports for all data types.

Does Asset Planet comply with financial data regulations (e.g., GDPR/CCPA)?
Asset Planet is designed to support compliance with applicable privacy and security requirements, including CCPA. We also maintain HIPAA-aligned security practices where applicable. GDPR is not currently compliant as we do not service European or other countries where this standard is factored.
What fintech industry standards do you follow for security and development?
We follow multiple security and development best practices. Please see our technical/security standards page for the most up‑to‑date list.
Where can I find guides or tutorials for using advanced features?
Help is built into the platform. Most pages include a Help modal and/or tutorial content for every single field, and many sections include introductory and feature-specific videos, including module overviews and application walkthroughs. A great deal of attention has been placed into self-guided help in the section you are within the software, so you don’t have to leave, search and come back for answer.
📈 Use Cases & Limitations
Is this platform suitable for financial advisors and professionals?
Yes. Asset Planet is designed for a wide range of professionals—including insurance professionals, financial advisors, wealth managers, divorce professionals, and estate/legacy attorneys—who need organization, planning, and collaboration tools. Professional subscriptions also include one personal subscription for the professional’s own household use.
Can I use this for business financial planning vs. personal planning?
Yes. Asset Planet supports both personal and business planning. For example, the Goals module includes templates such as “Starting a Business,” and goal planning can be used for both personal and business scenarios.
Are legacy planning tools included (estate planning, etc.)?
Yes. Legacy and estate planning tools are included. MyLegacyWall.com is included with any paid subscription and is planned for deeper integration into the platform. We also support estate-planning workflows through our portals (WhenIDie.com and IfIDie.com). Collaboration features such as document sharing and chat are available for supported plans.
Are there limitations on the number of accounts I can link?
Plaid linking limits depend on the institution and plan configuration. Current limits are: [TBD].
🔁 Data & Integration
How often does automatic account syncing occur?
Automatic syncing depends on the institution and provider’s behavior. In general, data updates when you initiate a manual sync and/or when the provider refreshes available data in the background.
Can I manually update or refresh linked accounts?
Yes. A manual refresh option is available for linked accounts.
What happens if a linked institution is unsupported or changes APIs?
If an institution is unsupported or changes its API, you may see an error message. Some issues are resolved automatically as providers update connectivity; others may require investigation. If you contact support, please do not send private credentials—share only a screenshot with sensitive information removed or blurred. Email support@assetplanet.com.
Spouse has credit card in their name, and I can’t bank link?
Some banks restrict signing or linking when the account owner differs from the credentials being used. If the card/account is in your spouse’s name, you may need to link using the spouse’s bank credentials initially; after that, the connection may continue to sync based on the institution’s rules. This is our current workaround.

Can credit cover future subscription payments?
Yes. When available, credits can be applied toward future subscription payments.
